Chasing The Ride...

Oh my!

So here I am again and with news that will blow you away. Or maybe not but we don't have another gig in June but in May!! 25th of May at the place I work at. It will be rather interesting but I am prepared. We all are and this time we can play our full list of songs and. It will be much better than the other gig I hope.

I haven't written in here much lately but not much was really going on. I am in the process of getting the last details done to leave here in July. I applied for an international birth certificate and for an international driver's license. I also sent off a second package that should arrive safely in the US in about 2 - 3 weeks.

Today is the Champions League Final, so I am excited to watch that. I am not a Leverkusen fan but of course I will cheer for the German team. It should be a great game, since the other team (Real Madrid) has just awesome players. I am hoping for Leverkusen though, they so deserve to finally win something.

Weekend wrap up

So we had our gig this weekend then. So we were way excited and had prepared since November for this. So the weather was crappy and it was cold and we were only allowed to play 20 minutes. To wrap it up, so we were way disappointed in the end. sigh

I guess it was an okay experience. Playing in front of maybe 150 people, at least something. We were way excited to say the least, but about 10 minutes before we were supposed to play someone told us that we could play only 20 minutes at the most. The school couldn't afford to rent the equipment beyond that so we cut our playlist from 11 to 5 songs, which was of course no fun. The worst part was though that the technician was just not capable of doing what he was supposed to do. On stage I could not hear myself at all and I never heared our lead guitarist. Needless to say that playing like this is no fun and extremely hard. Off stage it supposedly sounded okay, only the singer wasn't loud enough. Don't ask my why the technician didn't fix that.

So yep, the experience was okay but we were way disppointed in the end. It just didn't work out the way we wanted it and we had prepared a darn long time for this. We have one more gig though in late June. Hopefully that will be better, since I will leave for the US after that and quit my career as a rockstar. ;-)

thump thump

Did you hear that too? I think it's my heart beating, because I am nervous for saturday! We'll have our first gig that day! It'll be at my old school, so I will know a lot of people, which worsens my nervous heartbeat. We practiced a lot though and I think it will be a great experience and lots of fun.

My birthday was good! I got lots of flowers and my wonderful girlfriend gave me a membership to the R.E.M. Fanclub! She's the best. :-) I had a fun day and lots of people congratulated me and gave me the best wishes. I felt loved. :-)

Also, the first package I sent over to the US arrived safe and sound! I am so happy about that! It had lots of CDs and books in it and it was darn heavy and I am just glad it made the long way alright. It was rather fast too! Next week I will send another one then, which should almost be the last one then. Just about 2 more months and I will be leaving! I am so very excited and happy about that. :-)
